(home of the Ballarat Goats)
Following the first Trip, we incorporated the GOATS club with its founding Charter.
However, an integral part of the structure of Trip Organisation was the drawing from a hat of the names of the organisers of the next Trip. Once a full round of Trips had been completed this was seen to be a redundant activity since no sane Goat would want to run the risk of having to organise two consecutive Trips (or even Trips spaced by just two years) which could happen to the last organisers.
Other constitutional issues came to the fore. Most important was the consideration of the frequency of Trips given that none of us are getting any younger!! More Trips... More often please!
All of this forced a Constitutional Crisis and hence a formal meeting - the Goat Forum on the Constitution or the GFC.
At the same time, Bing and Pike realised that the club impacted too much on family commitments, especially given the push for more frequent Trips, so, reluctantly and to the sorrow of the rest of the Herd, they were forced to retire.
From all this emerged a refined and rewritten Constitution which, the astute political scholars among you will recognise, is based, not too loosely, on an amalgam of the USA constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Go Goats Go.
